Description

Just received a ZWO1600MM Pro + filters in the post. So I thought I would give it a trial run last night - albeit in rather indifferent conditions (think cloud most of the night and 4-5 arcsec seeing).

I also tried my f/6 focal reducer on the RC8, which made set-up a little more interesting.

Not really knowing what I was doing I simply gave Halpha, SII and OIII all the same length of time on NGC3579. I chose this simply because it was in the clearest part of the sky when I started. But turns out it doesn't have much SII - or much SII that's spatially differentiable from Halpha.

SO the Hubble palette makes it go a bit green. All in all, even though it is my first effort, I am a little disappointed in this, and would love suggestions about how I could to better.

Description: And this version is for Matthew... using his tip for the Hue curve in CurvesTransformation. I could go on and on, and the colours are now just a matter of taste - albeit with a little bit of info. Frankly, I almost think the greyscale of the Halpha image is the most spectacular. Perhaps I should just stick to that. nyway, its been a great learning experience for me today. Thanks toveryone for great suggestions.
